Katharine Yeargin
Actress/Singer/Comedian
Hi there!
My name is Katharine! I am an actor, singer, and comedian, originally from Brookfield, Connecticut. Currently, I am based in New York City where I studied Musical Theatre at the CAP21 Conservatory. For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about music and storytelling. One of my favorite things to do was to sing at the piano and plunk songs from my memory (“Payphone” by Maroon 5 was my favorite at eight years old). Though my piano skills did not advance much further from this point, I had the immense privilege of taking voice lessons all throughout my childhood, and performing through school and community theatre.
Comedy Tonight!
My passion for comedy, particularly stand-up, is one I discovered much more recently. But, it has quickly become an integral part of my artistry. I feel that the desire and ability to find humor in one’s life allows them to connect with others in such a visceral way. Connection and understanding has always fueled my artistry, and I have found so much of it with many different types of people through my comedic endeavors.
Any theatre or film production is an immense labor for anyone involved. To honor the work of each and every individual, I demand specificity from myself, and connection to my society and to my communities. For without a respect and curiosity for people, I feel storytelling cannot exist. I hope through my work, I can inspire relationships and conversations in others, like the ones I’ve been lucky enough to experience myself.
