Katharine Yeargin
Actress/Singer/Writer
Hi there!
My name is Katharine! I am an actor, singer, and writer, originally from Brookfield, Connecticut. Currently, I am based in New York City where I study Musical Theatre at the CAP21 Conservatory. For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about music and storytelling. One of my favorite things to do was to sing at the piano and plunk songs from my memory (“Payphone” by Maroon 5 was my favorite at eight years old). Though my piano skills did not advance much further from this point, I had the immense privilege of taking voice lessons all throughout my childhood, and performing through school and community theatre.
Stories Make Sense!
My passion for writing is one I discovered much more recently, but it has quickly become an integral part of my artistry. Story-telling is so uniquely human, and the way that theatre and poetry both capture life is something that has always filled me with awe. Even more so, it has been one of the only things that has consistently made sense to me.
My artistry is fueled by the desire to bring such sense into the world. Any theatre or film production is an immense labor for anyone involved. To honor the work of each and every individual, I demand specificity from myself, and connection to my society and to my communities. For without a respect and curiosity for people, I feel storytelling cannot exist. I hope through my work, I can inspire relationships and conversations in others, like the ones I’ve been lucky enough to experience myself.
